Single Sign On in the CCIM family
We’ve been working on a Single Sign On system to integrate the websites in the CCIM family: CCIMNet, CCIM, and Site to Do Business. I’ve learned today that we’ve been using an old buzz word. The new term is Federated Identity. In any case, the idea is that you start at any one of websites and login. When you follow a link from one to another, you’ll be taken there in a way that logs you into the new site without requiring re-entry of your ID and password. We’ve implemented our own system because there’s no good, open standard available. It looks like the Liberty Alliance is bringing its system a little closer to reality. In this e-week column Identity Standards Rely on Trust Among Companies, Cameron Sturdevant talks about the risks and benefits of federated identitities.
